How Conversion Management came to be

Maxymiser launched in 2006 when we introduced a “test-and-improve” methodology to many of Europe’s leading online businesses.  We have been  the catalyst for substantial change in how companies  develop customer experiences based on objective decisioning and continual website refinement. Our business was founded to help marketers deploy action focused technology and services to drive website ROI.

Before we arrived, many content change decisions were being made using guesswork. This led to high levels of design risk and a rip-and-replace approach to customer experience management which was expensive and ineffective. Marketers were flying blind on key user experience decisions thrashed out in team meetings based on subjective view-points. They had great information on what was broken from their web analytics data but no effective means to manage visitor experience on an ongoing basis. We quickly discovered that it is almost impossible to second-guess visitors accurately – it was much  better to test their behavior then serve improved content. The same principles could then be applied to personalization.
